How did you come up with your business name?
I wanted a business name which reflected the
purpose and target audience of the markets. I first decided the
words 'Online Market' needed to be included to show what the
business was. I spent a lot of time playing around with
different words to begin with. I was mindful that I didn't want
just one type of product - such as children's products, and as
such wanted to reflect this in the name. I came across
'Creative' and took an instant liking to it. This word resembled
what I wanted - work at home parents/persons, hobby businesses
and small businesses all came under the 'creative' banner, so
long as there products in some way or form were artistic,
handmade or generally creative.
Why did you start the Online Market?
Why did you start the Online Market?
I was heavily pregnant with my second child and was struggling to get my own business to physical markets and promote it. I looked at the stall holders who attended the markets I did, noticed they were all on Facebook promoting their products and some travel half way across the state to attend some markets. I thought if I couldn't make a market because I was pregnant, how many stall holders couldn't make markets because of work or family commitments or other reasons? How many of the general public was missing out on some of Adelaide's finest businesses for the same reasons? I played with the idea for a few months before I created the first market page, and finally decided I wanted to give the Adelaide market goers a chance to shop in a new way and stall holders a chance to network in new ways.
What do you enjoy most about running the online market?
I love finding new businesses and discovering what they have to offer. I think it's the best part of running the market, closely followed by interacting with all the stall holders who have been selected to show off their wares.
What inspires you?
The hype and anticipation of market day
generated in the lead up and watching as businesses gain new
followers and generate sales on market day - it's a rush to log
on a few times an hour and see the market page has 10+ new
notifications every time.

Tell us three things you would like your customers to know about Creative Online Markets?
2. The market reserves a few spaces for services and party plan businesses and we welcome these businesses to apply.
3. The market wouldn't be successful without our sponsors. These businesses pay more than the stall holder fee for extra advertising etc, and the funds help to boost the advertising the market does.
